Are 5 star cars affordable?
Yes. If you’re in the market for a new car, there is often little price variation between 3-star and 5-star cars.
5-star cars may cost slightly more than a 3-star car but that cost, when the car is new, can be low. To ensure safety, we would encourage drivers to purchase a car that might be a year older with a 5-star safety rating rather than a newer car with 3-stars. A safer car isn’t always more expensive and you can get many 4 and 5 star rated second-hand cars for under $15,000.
